The Fellowship of Christian Athletes engages coaches and athletes to grow in their faith and sport.
An FCA staff member for 22 years serving in three different Mississippi districts, Buckley has been a football chaplain since 2005, most recently at Mississippi State University. He is also a writer and speaker with a passion for Mississippi coaches and athletes. Buckley’s own story as a prodigal son is one of the redemptive power and the love of Christ.
Mary Buckley is a former hospital and hospice chaplain as well as a gifted musician and artist. Her artwork is dynamically inspired by a deep and intimate relationship with God. Mary’s strong administrative and teaching gifts empower our team in a great way.
Jess, ironically, has no athletic ability herself, but loves serving student athletes through FCA. She was a teacher and Varsity Cheer Sponsor before joining FCA. Jess is thrilled to be in a position to help our staff fulfill their ministry goals.
Jeff was a coach in the state of Mississippi for 35 years, coaching football at every level: public school, private school, and junior college. He can relate to young people from various socioeconomic backgrounds and he also has the respect of coaches around our state. Most importantly, Jeff has a love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mark has worked with FCA since 2005. He is the District 1 Area Director for Northeast MS. One of Mark's passions is to preach the gospel. One of his goals is to see huddles on a mission to reach their school for Jesus Christ.
Krisi joined her husband, Mark, and the FCA team in 2010. Her heart is to see young people walk in the confident love of Jesus.
Ethan covers the north part of District 1 which includes Alcorn, Tishomingo, and Prentiss Counties. Ethan is passionate about Jesus Christ and developing leaders. Join him on the journey to develop disciples through the ministry of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Jimmy grew up outside Baltimore Maryland and came down south to play baseball at Belhaven University. He has worked with FCA for 4 years doing both high school and college ministry in the Starkville area. His roles have included Area Rep, Area Director, Mississippi State Baseball Chaplain, in addition to campus Rep.
Graduated from Mississippi State as a student-athlete, majoring in biological sciences and playing soccer. She currently serves as the Administrative Assistant for District 4 and serves the MSU soccer team.
Tyson Cunningham is a former MSU basketball player. A walk-on from Columbus MS, he worked into the starting rotation under Coach Rick Ray. Tyson is a gifted singer and musician and all around team and campus leader.
Bubba has coached for almost 50 years in Mississippi and Alabama. He is the only coach in Mississippi to ever win three straight championships in the major classifications of 4-A or 5-A. Davis has also been named Coach of the Year an impressive 12 times. Coach Bubba Davis is a member of the West Point, East Mississippi, Delta State and Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fames. He serves as a volunteer for FCA in the areas around Mississippi State.
Dennis is a former counselor, teacher and coach from the Corinth School District and has served as an FCA Volunteer, ministering to coaches in his area, for several years.
As a former softball coach, Jordan knows what it takes to inspire and lead young athletes. He joined the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) as an area representative, where he will be tasked with working with area coaches in Neshoba, Kemper and Leake counties to establish and expand FCA’s Huddle ministry, which is similar to small-group Bible studies.
Rani joined the FCA Team in 2018.
John was a basketball player at Ole Miss during their glory years in the late 90's and early 2000's. Hailing from Paragould, Arkansas John has built his life in Mississippi, where he found a college degree, a beautiful wife, and 4 children. In his spare time he enjoys playing video games and smoking meats.
Amanda is originally from Grenneville, MS. She graduated from the University of MS in 2005 with a degree in Secondary Modern Language Education. She has 4 kids.
Cecil served as a volunteer member of North Central MS Leadership Board for five years before coming on staff in 2013 as Director of Field Development. Added duties as Director of Events for annual FCA Breakfast and Golf Scramble in 2015. Honors graduate of Auburn University, President of the Hernando Camp of the Gideons and Vietnam-era veteran.
Dan grew up in North Augusta, SC, and has been involved in sports his whole life. He played football, basketball, baseball, and track in high school. He has been involved with FCA since high school and also during his time at Charleston Southern.
Prior to becoming Campus Director, Scott served with FCA as an Area Representative in Lafayette, Panola and Tate counties and as a Campus Chaplain on the Ole Miss Campus. As Campus Director, Weathersby will create and sustain the plan to grow the FCA Ministry on campus through Board, Donor and Staff development.
Sammie’s story is one of redemption. He knows what it is like to hit bottom; but he also knows what it like to get a second chance to live with purpose. Sammie has shared the message of Jesus Christ with thousands at churches, civic organizations, and through FCA. In 2012, Sammie joined the FCA staff as the representative for Lake County, Florida. Sammie joined the Mississippi FCA Staff in 2016 as the Director of Character Development of Ole Miss Football.

Jay answered the call to ministry the summer before his senior year in high school. After graduating from Mississippi College with a degree in social work, and earning a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Jay entered full-time ministry as a senior pastor. Jay joined the staff of Mississippi FCA in November 2016 as an Area Director.
Deshone joined the staff of Mississippi FCA in February 2018.
Kiel has played sports most of his life and has been on many teams and in many locker rooms. He understands the platform athletics gives coaches and players to share their faith. He played baseball at Belhaven University and then coached for a little while before joining the FCA Staff. He is now serving as a Multi-Area director, working to grow the number of staff in SW MS to reach coaches and athletes for Christ.
Lara joined the FCA staff to assist her husband, Kiel, with serving the staff of Southeast Mississippi.
When he isn't kicking footballs in the NFL or CFL, Swayze serves as an area representative in the Central Mississippi area. He has a huge heart for missions and will be working to connect staff in Region 8 with our international partners in Central Africa.
Art is a tennis pro in the Jackson area and joined the FCA staff to help develop ministry to Community Sports.
Dani's passion and love for Christ just lights up the room when she enters. After serving a year as an FCA intern, Dani transitioned to a full-time position this year. She serves in the Central Mississippi FCA area.
After coaching baseball for almost 25 years, Chuck retired in 2016 to join the staff of FCA full-time in the Central Mississippi area. He is excited to serve the coaches and athletes of this area.
Alex joined the Central MS FCA staff in July 2018.
Lester was a coach for 19 years before answering the call to serve as the Jackson Inner City Area Representative. He exemplifies to everyone what it means to serve others and has made an impact in the lives of many. Lester serves the inner city schools and Jackson State University.
Jimmy has mentored and ministered to many doctors and dentists who graduated through the local teaching hospital. He joined the FCA staff in 2013 to disciple athletes on campus at Mississippi College and then began serving at Belhaven College in 2016. He is a mentor to many athletes on campus.
Justin joined the FCA staff in 2009 as a college freshman with a passion for giving Bibles away. Once he graduated from Mississippi College, an opportunity to serve at Jones County Junior College as the Campus Director. The opportunity came open for Justin to serve again on the campus at Mississippi College and he jumped on it! He and his wife, Casey, serve the athletes and coaches on campus.
Casey joins her husband, Justin, on the campus of Mississippi College to serve the athletes and coaches of MC.
Coach Stevens had been coaching for 35 years when he retired in 2011. A native of Vicksburg, MS, he spent most of his coaching career at Vicksburg High School. Alonzo now serves on the School Board and part time with FCA, ministering to coaches and athletes in the Vicksburg area.
Chris joined the FCA staff in 2017 to serve the coaches and athletes of the southwest portion of Mississippi.
After serving over two decades as a television sports director, Mitchell accepted a "God-given" call to FCA over lunch with the late Bill Buckner in 2011. In addition to serving as multi-area director for Southeast Mississippi, his assignment includes leading FCA ministry at Southern Miss and being football chaplain for the USM football team.
Annie is a native of Newton, MS and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in Business Administration. In her career, she has held many supervisory positions in administration and Human Resources. As a former youth ministry leader who loves the Lord, she is looking forward to making an impact on and being impacted by the youth of the FCA. Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Taylor McCarter was born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She graduated from Oak Grove High School and am currently attending Pearl River Community College. She has been involved in FCA as a student athlete since junior high. She will focus on female Olympic sports and community ministry.
Jonathan is the Area Director of the East Central Mississippi area.
Melinda is the Administrative Assistant to the staff in the East Central Mississippi area.
Jacob is a student at Meridian Community College and serving part-time as an FCA Intern.
Stephanie grew up playing softball in Petal, Mississippi. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. After a long stint in the corporate world, Stephanie heeded the call to full time ministry and joined the staff of a large church in San Antonio, Texas where she led as a Discipleship Pastor. She served on a board for the FCA in San Antonio before moving back to her hometown of Petal and joining the SE Mississippi FCA team.
