An FCA staff member for 22 years serving in three different Mississippi districts, Buckley has been a football chaplain since 2005, most recently at Mississippi State University. He is also a writer and speaker with a passion for Mississippi coaches and athletes. Buckley’s own story as a prodigal son is one of the redemptive power and the love of Christ.
Mary Buckley is a former hospital and hospice chaplain as well as a gifted musician and artist. Her artwork is dynamically inspired by a deep and intimate relationship with God. Mary’s strong administrative and teaching gifts empower our team in a great way.
John was a basketball player at Ole Miss during their glory years in the late 90's and early 2000's. Hailing from Paragould, Arkansas John has built his life in Mississippi, where he found a college degree, a beautiful wife, and 4 children. In his spare time he enjoys playing video games and smoking meats.
Cecil served as a volunteer member of NW MS Leadership Board for five years before coming on staff in 2013 as Director of Field Development. Added duties as Director of Events for annual FCA Breakfast and Golf Scramble in 2015. Honors graduate of Auburn University, President of the Hernando Camp of the Gideons and Vietnam-era veteran.
Todd grew up in Nashville, TN, and has been involved with FCA on the middle school, high school, and college levels. He joined the Mississippi FCA staff as full time Ole Miss Campus Director in August 2009.
Sammie’s story is one of redemption. He knows what it is like to hit bottom; but he also knows what it like to get a second chance to live with purpose. Sammie has shared the message of Jesus Christ with thousands at churches, civic organizations, and through FCA. In 2012, Sammie joined the FCA staff as the representative for Lake County, Florida. Sammie joined the Mississippi FCA Staff in 2016 as the Director of Character Development of Ole Miss Football.
In 1996, Peggie was inducted into the Ole Miss Athletics Hall of Fame and is a 1997 inductee of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame for the last five years. The Gillom Sports Center at Ole Miss was named after Peggie and her sister, Jennifer, in 2000. Peggie joined FCA staff in October 2009 and serves as part time chaplain for the Ole Miss women’s teams. She also leads women’s bible studies here on campus for the student athletes.
Jay answered the call to ministry the summer before his senior year in high school. After graduating from Mississippi College with a degree in social work, and earning a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Jay entered full-time ministry as a senior pastor. Jay joined the staff of Mississippi FCA in November 2016 as an Area Director.
Trey played football, basketball, baseball and track at Indianola Academy, where he graduated in 2013. He was an All-Star in football, All-Conference Basketball player, and won several medals in track. Trey went on to play football at Mississippi College and has coached football and basketball at North Sunflower Academy. Trey loves everything that FCA stands for because it helps reach kids that might not go to church or be active in a youth group.
Jeff was a coach in the state of Mississippi for 35 years, coaching football at every level: public school, private school, and junior college. He can relate to young people from various socioeconomic backgrounds and he also has the respect of coaches around our state. Most importantly, Jeff has a love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jimmy grew up outside Baltimore Maryland and came down south to play baseball at Belhaven University. He has worked with FCA for 4 years doing both high school and college ministry in the Starkville area. His roles have included Area Rep, Area Director, Mississippi State Baseball Chaplain, in addition to campus Rep.
Tyson Cunningham is a former MSU basketball player. A walk-on from Columbus MS, he worked into the starting rotation under Coach Rick Ray. Tyson is a gifted singer and musician and all around team and campus leader.
Kiel has played sports most of his life and has been on many teams and in many locker rooms. He understands the platform athletics gives coaches and players to share their faith. He played baseball at Belhaven University and then coached for a little while before joining the FCA Staff. He is now serving as a Multi-Area director, working to grow the number of staff in SW MS to reach coaches and athletes for Christ.
